On Wednesday, a local court granted the Islamabad police’s request for a two-day physical detention of Gill. A court denied a police request to extend Gill’s two-day physical remand, therefore the judge remanded him to Islamabad police custody.
The judge reportedly also instructed the investigating officer to have the respondent evaluated by a doctor and submit a report to the court, according to the Dawn newspaper.
Gill was allegedly tortured in police detention in the past, and according to Imran Khan’s party, his life is still in danger.

Shahbaz Gill’s recent placement in police detention has raised concerns from Imran Khan.
