Former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday for announcing that the government would repeal three farm regulations enacted by the Centre. Modi stated on Friday that the government has decided to remove the three farm rules that have been the subject of farmer protests for the past year.
“Exciting news! On the auspicious day of #GuruNanakJayanti, I am grateful to Prime Minister @narendramodi ji for heeding the demands of every punjabi and eliminating the three black laws. I am confident that the central government will continue to collaborate on Kisani’s growth! Singh tweeted, “#NoFarmers NoFood @AmitShah.”
The prime minister said the three farm legislation were for the benefit of farmers, but that despite his best efforts, he couldn’t persuade a segment of farmers.
According to him, the three agricultural laws were intended to empower farmers, particularly small farms.
