According to reports, a man who killed a woman, severed her heart, and then stabbed two other people to death, including a 4-year-old child, received a life sentence in jail in the US state of Oklahoma.

In 2021, less than a month after being granted an early release from jail, 44-year-old Lawrence Paul Anderson allegedly committed the horrific killings.

A few weeks after being released from prison, he killed and dismembered Andrea Blankenship, took her heart to his aunt and uncle’s home, and cooked it with potatoes.

Then, according to ABC News, he made an effort to serve the grisly dinner to the couple before stabbing and killing Leon Pye, 67, and his 4-year-old granddaughter Kaeos Yates.

Anderson received a commutation from Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt after serving just three years of a 20-year term in a drug case. His release was a result of a state-led mass commutation effort, but a subsequent inquiry revealed that he had actually been mistakenly added to the list.

After pleading guilty to murder, assault, and maiming, Anderson was given five straight life sentences.

Cases have been brought against the Oklahoma governor and the prison parole board by Anderson’s aunt, who was also hurt in the assault, and the families of the other victims.
