In a heart-pounding video from New Jersey, US, a man was forced to toss his 3-year-old son and also jump from a second-floor window of a building to escape a fire.
We can see several panicked first responders near the building, which is engulfed in flames and smoke, in footage shared by the South Brunswick Township Police Department’s public relations office. The officers, who are standing beneath the building with their arms spread, try to persuade the man trapped on the second floor to throw his infant down.

The officers can be heard shouting “pass the baby down.” We can see debris raining down as the father clears a path out the window. He then throws the terrified baby out the window before leaping from the second floor, head first.
The terrifying ordeal was captured on a body camera worn by an officer last week.
