Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued an ultimatum to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, stating that if the leader does not reduce the price of a 10 kg wheat flour bag to 400 within the next 24 hours, he will sell his clothes and provide the cheapest flour to the people. “I reiterate my words, I would sell my clothes and provide the cheapest wheat flour to people,” the PM said during a public meeting at Thakara stadium on Sunday.
The political fervour in the public meeting was mirrored in the Prime Minister’s address to the people. He blamed former Prime Minister Imran Khan for the country’s highest-ever rising prices and unemployment rates.

PM Sharif also chastised Imran Khan’s government for failing to deliver on his promise of providing five million houses and ten million jobs, and for plunging the country into a financial downturn.

“I solemnly declare in front of you that I would lay down my life but lead this country to national prosperity,” Shehbaz Sharif said during the rally, according to Dawn.

Speaking about the Balochistan elections, the Prime Minister stated that people had faith in him and voted in his favour.
“People of Balochistan flocked to the polling stations, and voter turnout remained between 30 and 35 percent, as I expected, indicating people’s confidence in democracy and progress in law and order,” he added.

Shehbaz Sharif has blamed Mr Khan for the rise in fuel prices that has gripped Pakistan.
“Imran Khan, who disgraces everyone in public, had reduced petroleum product prices at a moment when rates were rising across the world after realising he would be removed from power via a no-confidence motion,” he said, according to the mainstream press portal.

PM Sharif also heaped praise on his brother, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, during the rally.

“I had back pain, but I travelled to meet you and enjoyed the motorway ride the entire time as I did remember Nawaz Sharif’s love for people and so this nation,” Shehbaz Sharif said.
PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz as well spoke at the rally on Sunday. She praised her father, Nawaz Sharif, for his patriotism while mocking Imran Khan’s ‘Haqiqi Azadi March.’
