Oksana Shvets, a Ukrainian actress, was killed in a Russian rocket attack on a Kyiv apartment building.
“During the rocket shelling of a residential building in Kyiv, a well-deserved artist of Ukraine Oksana Shvets was killed,” her company, the Young Theater, said in a statement, confirming Ms Oksana’s death.
Ms. Oksana was 67 years old, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She has been awarded the title of “Honored Artist of Ukraine,” one of Ukraine’s highest creative honours.
On February 24, Russia launched a military action in Ukraine in response to requests for assistance from the separatist republics of Donetsk and Luhansk in combating Ukrainian troops’ aggression.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the special operation is only aimed at Ukrainian military facilities. Since the crisis began in Ukraine, about 600 civilians have been murdered and over 1,000 have been injured, according to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
