Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has announced that he will address the United Nations Security Council on Tuesday, after stating that it is in Kyiv’s best interests to have the most transparent probe into the massacre of civilians in Ukraine.

He said on Monday that at least 300 civilians had been killed in Bucha, where mass graves and remains were discovered after Ukraine reclaimed the town from Russian forces, and that he expected the number of victims in Borodyanka and other towns to be significantly higher.

In his nightly video message, Zelenskiy stated, “I would want to emphasise that we are interested in the most comprehensive, transparent inquiry, the results of which will be known and explained to the entire world community.”
