It appears that Mark Zuckerberg is not fully sure of his suitability to lead the Metaverse, according to Canadian singer-songwriter and record producer Grimes.

She conveyed her disgust at the internet tycoon’s plans to turn the organisation formerly known as Facebook into a forerunner in the metaverse, according to Page Six. Grimes believes he is “wildly under-qualified” to captain the vessel.

Grimes, who has dated Elon Musk in the past, criticised the Metaverse avatar of the Facebook founder by posting on Twitter and wrote, “The Metaverse is dead, and those who value art and culture are creating something else if Zuck “oversees” it. And this is poor art.”

Grimes said in response to the image of Mr. Zuckerberg’s avatar from the metaverse, “The quality of this image alone speaks to how wildly under-qualified he is to design alternate reality, virtually every indie game looks better,” that she had also posted.

In the midst of a string of controversies involving Facebook’s business methods and internal standards, Mark Zuckerberg last October oversaw a company-wide shift toward the metaverse, even going so far as to change the social media platform’s name to Meta.

The photograph Grimes was referring to was one that Mr. Zuckerberg had posted on Facebook last week, but the response it received was not at all what he had anticipated. Only a few days later, he shared a different avatar.

Mr. Zuckerberg tweeted, “According to Page Six.” “Although the picture I posted earlier this week was rather simple, it was hurriedly snapped to commemorate a launch. Even on headsets, Horizon’s visuals can do much more, and it is developing very quickly.”
