On Sunday, authorities in the United States city of Detroit launched a manhunt for a suspect suspected of shooting four people at “random” and killing three of them.

The first three victims, two women and a man, were discovered shot multiple times in separate locations throughout the Midwestern city in the early hours of the morning, according to the Midwestern city’s police chief, James White.

According to White, a fourth man spotted the suspect peering into car windows and told him to stop. The suspect fired one shot.

The shootings appear to be “very random,” according to White, who spoke at a press conference.

Agents from “multiple agencies” are “scouring several square miles right now, waiting for the individual to resurface,” Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan said.

“This individual has already shot four people today,” he said, urging anyone with information about the suspect to come forward.

On Sunday, the shootings were not the only instance of lethal gun violence in the United States.

Authorities in Houston, Texas, said a gunman shot three people dead after setting fire to their home.

At a different press conference, Houston Police Chief Troy Finner added, “Unfortunately, and very regrettably, and very evilly.” When the residents of the burning homes emerged, the suspect opened fire on them.

According to him, firefighters battling the fire had to take cover from the gunman as well.

When police arrived, they shot the man dead.

Finner said the gunman had recently been told he would be evicted, which “may have been a trigger point” for him, but that police were looking into it.

Meanwhile, an NFL football player was shot in the nation’s capital but is in stable condition, according to the Washington Post.

According to the Washington Post, Brian Robinson Jr, a running back with the Washington Commanders, was shot twice during a possible carjacking.

According to the newspaper, he was taken to the hospital and his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

The United States is frequently rocked by shootings, and lawmakers are hesitant to pass gun control legislation, despite widespread public support.
