President Joe Biden has agreed to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin “in principle” as long as Russia refrains from launching an attack on Ukraine, according to US sources.

Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, remarked, “We are going to pursue diplomacy until an invasion begins.” In the unlikely event that another invasion occurs, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will meet in Europe on Thursday.

Psaki added in a statement, “We are always ready for diplomacy.” Should Russia instead chose war, we are likewise prepared to impose rapid and severe repercussions. And Russia appears to be preparing for a full-scale attack on Ukraine very soon.”
