Ukraine sanctioned 182 Russian and Belarussian companies, as well as three individuals, in the latest in a series of steps taken by President Volodymyr Zelensky to cut off Moscow and Minsk’s connections to his country.

In a video message, Zelensky stated that “their assets in Ukraine have been frozen, and their properties will be utilised for our defense.”

According to the list published by Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, the sanctioned companies are primarily involved in goods transportation, vehicle leasing, and chemical production.

Uralkali, a Russian potash fertilizer producer and exporter, is on the list, as are Belaruskali, a state-owned potash producer in Belarus, Belarusian Railways, and Russia’s VTB-Leasing and Gazprombank Leasing, both of which deal with transport leasing.
