Murad Saeed, Pakistan’s communications minister, has issued a legal notice to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ex-wife Reham Khan for making baseless allegations against him in her book.
According to a press release issued by the Information Ministry on Sunday, Mr. Saeed demanded an unconditional apology from Reham within 14 days, or a defamation suit worth 100 crores would be filed against her, according to the Dawn newspaper on Monday.

“Tender an apology within 14 days of receiving this notice, or the court will be requested for her stern punishment and $1 billion in damages,” the minister stated in an official announcement.
Mr. Saeed stated a few days ago that his ministry received distinction by ranking first among the top ten ministries due to exceptional performance, but the achievement was tainted by a reference to the contents of Reham’s book, which was published in 2018.

“Your book was used as a reference for malicious propaganda and false allegations,” he claimed.

According to the minister, Reham never contradicted any of the references in her book that were leaked before it was published. “Later, with reference to her book,” the press release stated, “false allegations were leveled against Murad Saeed.”
Earlier this month, the communications minister filed a cybercrime case with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) against Mohsin Baig, the editor-in-chief of Daily Jinnah and Online News Agency, for what he called “character assassination” during a talk show on a private TV channel.
During the show, Mr. Baig and other panelists alluded to Reham Khan’s book, implying why Mr. Saeed was referred to as a “blue-eyed” minister in Prime Minister Khan’s Cabinet.

Mr. Saeed had recently threatened to sue Reham for “disgracing him and the PM” in her book, which was published in July 2018.

Reham married Imran Khan in 2015 and lived with him for less than two years before divorcing him in November 2016.

She hinted at a relationship between her ex-husband Khan and Saeed in her book, which was published after the divorce.
