On Saturday, Moderna Inc said the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) voted to recommend the use of the company’s Covid-19 vaccine on individuals 18 years of age and older.

In favour of the vaccine, the panel voted 11-0, the firm said in a press release.

The result of the vote came a day after the authorization for emergency use of Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine by the Food and Drug Administration.

Chief Executive Officer Stephane Bancel said in the release, “The ACIP recommendation is another step forward in our quest to address this devastating vaccine pandemic.”
