The adolescent has been charged with six offences, including armed robbery, discharge of a firearm, and assault with a dangerous weapon. Because the boy is a minor, his name has not been released.

According to local media, the 12-year-old discussed with classmates which petrol station in the area would be the least security system before robbing one.
The gun used in the incident belonged to the boy’s grandfather, with whom he lives and who is his primary caretaker. He allegedly took a gun from his grandfather’s safe, which was loaded with ammunition.

According to police, the grandfather was unaware that the boy had access to his safe, which contained the gun.
