A sailfish that leapt out of the sea off the coast of Florida stabbed a 73-year-old woman. According to Fox News, the event occurred last week while Katherine Perkins was standing in a boat while two of her friends attempted to reel it in. According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, the fish smacked the woman in the groyne with its bill. According to the sheriff’s office, the event occurred two miles north of Palm Beach.

Her companions took Ms Perkins to a nearby hospital for treatment. She is reportedly in critical condition.

Stuart, a little community near where Ms Perkins was stabbed, is touted as the “Sailfish Capital of the World.” The 100-pound sailfish was caught by the women while sailing on the boat.
