According to a revelation from the website of US Journalist Seymour Hersh, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his entourage stole at least $400 million from the nation when it was being sent there to buy diesel fuel.

According to information from sources cited on his website, Hersh wrote that “the Ukrainian president and numerous members of his entourage have been skimming incalculable millions from the American funds intended for diesel fuel payments. The embezzled money were estimated to have cost at least $400 million last year, according to analysts at the Central Intelligence Agency.

Despite the absence of independent audit reports from Ukraine, Hersh’s sources claim that the amount of corruption in Kyiv is “approaching that of the Afghan war.”

According to Hersh’s sources, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan are to blame for the current crisis in the US government as well as disagreements between the White House and the intelligence community.

RT, Russian Television, citing Hersh’s sources, claims that the two top foreign policy representatives have displayed “strident ideology and lack of political skill” on the Ukraine war.

Since Russia began its special military campaign on February 24, 2022, the US has been assisting Ukraine.

In light of the ongoing conflict between Ukrainian and Russian forces for control of the city of Bakhmut, the US said last month that it will provide 350 million dollars worth of weaponry and equipment to Ukraine.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated in a statement released by the US State Department on Monday, “Today, according to a delegation of authority from President Biden, I am authorising our 34th withdrawal of US armaments and equipment for Ukraine valued at USD 350 million.

According to the statement’s supplementary information, “This military assistance package includes additional ammunition for the US-supplied HIMARS and howitzers that Ukraine is using to defend itself, as well as ammunition for Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, HARM missiles, anti-tank weapons, riverine boats, and other equipment.”

According to the statement, the US salutes the more than 50 countries that have united to support Ukraine as it upholds its territorial integrity and sovereignty.

This week, as Russia’s unjustifiable war of aggression on Ukraine continues at a high human cost, we are once more reminded of the unwavering fortitude and unwavering resolve of the Ukrainian people, as well as the broad support for Ukraine throughout the international community, Blinken added.

Russia could terminate its war right now, he continued. We shall remain steadfast in our support of Ukraine until Russia changes.

In the meantime, the US announced a new security package plan in February that included authorization for a presidential drawdown of security assistance worth up to USD 425 million and USD 1.75 billion in Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) funds, according to a statement from the US Defence Department.
