World Art Day is observed to promote the creation, dissemination, and enjoyment of art. People can express themselves through art in its various forms. Furthermore, the day is observed to raise awareness about the value of art in our daily lives. World Art Day, observed on April 15, is a UNESCO-designated day. World Art Day was established for the first time in 2019 during the 40th session of UNESCO’s General Conference. The day also commemorates the birth anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci, a famous Renaissance polymath.
As we all know, art plays an important role in the transmission of knowledge. Furthermore, the day seeks to strengthen the link between artistic creation and our society. It also recognises artists’ contributions to our societies.
