According to Taiwanese military officials, dozens of Chinese military warplanes went into the Taiwan air defence restriction zone on Saturday, marking Beijing’s greatest intrusion to date.
Taiwan’s defence ministry reported that, twenty Chinese military warplanes flew through the area after 25 flybys in two waves on Friday, including nuclear-capable bombers.
On Friday, 25 Chinese army warplanes flew into the southern sector of the air defence restriction zone, followed by 13 Chinese warplanes passing across the area in the night.

Each time, Taiwan’s military issued radio warnings to depart and deployed air defence missile systems to monitor the activity.
Due to national security reasons, an air defence identification zone is a section of airspace where foreign aircraft are detected, monitored, and controlled.
As per BBC, Taiwan has been complaining for more than a year about Chinese air force missions near the island.
“China has been wantonly engaged in military aggression, damaging regional peace,” Taiwan Premier Su Tseng-chang told reporters on Saturday
Taiwan has considered itself a sovereign state since the 1940s, when China and Taiwan were split, but Beijing regards it as a renegade province, as per the BBC.
