The shooter, who opened fire at a Christmas show in front of St. John the Divine Cathedral in Harlem, died after being shot in the head by the cops.

According to a New York Post report, the frightened crowd raced for cover—with security guards rapidly bringing some of the participants into the church and closing its large doors behind them while others cowered behind cars—as the screaming 52-year-old gunman fired into the air from the top of the famous church on West 112st Street and Amsterdam Avenue.

A witness told The Post of the 3:45 pm mayhem, “He started shouting, ‘Kill me! Kill me!’ and shooting at the big metal door in the centre [of the church],”

A New York Police Department (NYPD) spokesman was quoted by Sputnik as saying, “He (the shooter) is deceased”

The shooter, who was injured in New York City by police after opening fire near St. John the Divine’s Cathedral, succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital, police said.

Asked about any injured by law enforcement, Sputnik was told by the spokesman that Several officers were delivered to the hospitals for evaluation.”
