According to a story in the Independent, Salvador Ramos’ body was delayed in a morgue for a month because the nearby funeral houses wouldn’t take it. Ramos was the shooter who carried out the slaughter in a school in Uvalde, Texas. On May 24, 18-year-old Ramos entered the building and started shooting, leaving 19 pupils and two teachers dead. One of the bloodiest mass shootings in American history occurred there. Additionally, the cops have come under fire for waiting an hour to enter the classroom and kill Ramos. The autopsy was performed on May 27 and the cremation took place three and a half weeks later, according to an Independent investigation.

Uvalde coroner Eulalio “Lalo” Diaz Jr. was described by the site as claiming that the delay was brought on by the locals’ reluctance to handle the killer’s remains and the conflict among Ramos’ family.

His body was turned away by Rushing-Estes-Knowles and Hillcrest Memorial in Uvalde.

“When they arrived at him, the local funeral homes declared, “We don’t want to deal with him.” He needed to be kept for three weeks. While the victims’ funerals were taking place, I was still debating how to handle him. It was a challenging period, “The coroner continued.

Ultimately, the burial arrangements for Ramos were handled by Castle Ridge in Crystal City, 64 kilometres away from Uvalde, according to an article in the New York Post. He was, however, cremated 64 kilometres away, on the outskirts of San Antonio. The day is yet uncertain.

The district police chief Pete Arredondo, who oversaw the reaction to the school massacre, was reportedly sacked on Wednesday, according to sources in US media. The Uvalde school board unanimously decided to end his employment.

Arredondo had previously been accused of making “bad decisions” and putting “the lives of cops before the lives of children” while in charge of the crime scene by the state’s public safety head.
