Queen Elizabeth II has stated that when Prince Charles becomes King, the Duchess of Cornwall will be Queen.

On Saturday, Queen Elizabeth II used her Platinum Jubilee national speech to support Camilla, helping to shape the monarchy’s destiny.

When Prince Charles becomes King, the Queen declared her “sincere wish” for Camilla to be known as Queen Consort.

As she approached her 70th year on the throne, Elizabeth II expressed her wishes for her daughter-in-law, who was once a royal mistress but will now be dubbed Queen and crowned alongside Charles.

In her written letter, the Queen, who is 95 years old, said: “I’d want to thank you all for your support. I am forever grateful for your continued support and compassion, and I am humbled by it.”

“And I know you will give my son Charles and his wife Camilla the same support you have given me when the time comes; and it is my honest intention that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own devoted duty,” she continued.
