On Tuesday, Japan said that a suspected North Korean missile “possibly” flew over the nation and advised citizens to seek shelter.

The nation’s missile alert warning system was activated at 7:29 am (22:29 GMT Monday), and screens turned to the alarm message on national broadcaster NHK.

According to NHK, the alert was in place for two northern parts of the nation where the missile was allegedly headed.

The prime minister’s office tweeted shortly after that at around 8:00 am, stating that “a projectile that seems to be a North Korean ballistic missile has likely flown over Japan.”
