Hyderabad: Nine individuals, including a two-month-old baby, killed in Hyderabad after the wall collapsed and fell to ten houses late Tuesday night due to heavy rain.

The bodies are in the debris and badly trapped.

In multiple parts of the city, everyone’s life has been thrown out of gear.

Falaknuma Assistant Police Commissioner MA Majeed told that the wall had fallen about 11 p.m.

He added that enormous granite blocks from the compound wall dropped to about ten residences.

“Two houses were seriously damaged and nine people died on the spot,” Majeed said.

“There are five victims in one family and four others from different families.

Four people have suffered significant injuries and are being treated at Owaisi Hospital.”

All India’s Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslim Chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that he was performing an inspection in the area when the wall collapsed.

At least 14 districts of Telangana were affected.

With many areas submerged in Hyderabad, traffic has been disrupted as vehicles in flooded areas are unable to drive.

The areas that received the highest rainfall are in Singapore township, South Hastinapuram, Kandikalgate, Begumpet, Monda Market, Bhavaninagar, Abdullapurmet, Keesara, Ghatkeswar, Hayatnagar, Osmania Univerisity, Verkatpalle, Mangalapalle, Rajiv Nagar, Dandumailaram, Lingojiguda, Peerzadiguda.
