Ben Shephard of Good Morning Britain has taken to social media to provide an update on his health following surgery.

On Monday, the 46-year-old presenter posted a video from his hospital bed to his official Instagram page.

After his operation, he told his followers that he would have a “long, slow” recovery.

The father of two needed surgery on his leg after badly severing the nerves during a football game.

Ben ruptured his ACL, tore his meniscus, and fractured his leg.

The Tipping Point host provided an update on his condition as well as a timeline for his recovery.

Ben then showed a picture of his leg after the operation, which had been marked with orange.

“I swear I didn’t fake tan before my surgery, despite my Essex roots.

“So they’ve repaired the ACL and meniscus and are now starting the rehab, which will be a long and slow process.

Ben couldn’t help but praise Kate Garraway and Susanna Reid, his colleagues GMB hosts, for allowing him to broadcast in this manner.

“What were you thinking, Kate Garraway and Susanna Reid, letting me broadcast when I felt like this?”

Ben previously stated that he was unaware of the severity of his injury when it occurred.
