US President Joe Biden stated that he has moved 12,000 troops along Russia’s borders, including Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, and Romania while asserting that Vladimir Putin will not be victorious in his war against Ukraine.
In a speech to the House Democratic Caucus on Friday, Biden emphasized the importance of “not fighting a third World War in Ukraine,” but vowed to send an “unmistakable message that we will defend every inch of NATO territory.”

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is a group of 30 countries from North America and Europe. NATO’s mission is to “guarantee the freedom and security of its members through political and military means.”
Biden stated that the people of Ukraine have shown remarkable bravery and courage in the face of a Russian military offensive, but that the security assistance provided by the US has been critical in their defense.

“And, as we provide assistance to Ukraine, we will continue to stand with our European allies and send an unequivocal message that we will defend every inch of NATO territory with a united galvanized NATO,” the US president said.

“That’s why I’ve deployed 12,000 American troops along Russia’s borders — Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Romania, and so on… To be sure, if we respond, it will be World War Three. But we have a sacred duty on NATO territory… even if we will not fight a third World War in Ukraine.”
Russian forces launched military operations in Ukraine on February 24, just three days after Moscow recognized Ukraine’s breakaway regions, Donetsk and Luhansk, as independent entities.

“The idea that we’re going to send in aggressive equipment and have planes and tanks and trains going in with American pilots and crews, understand — and don’t kid yourself, no matter what you all say — that’s called World War Three,” he said.

The US president stated that he spent hours putting the alliance together, including the EU, NATO, and all Asian alliances.

“As a result, we’ve been able to increase economic pressure on Putin while further isolating Russia on the global stage,” he said.
Biden stated that the G7 nations – Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States – made a decision to remove Russia’s preferred nation status.

He claimed that Russia’s economy has suffered as a result of US-led sanctions.

“Our economic sanctions and export controls are suffocating the Russian economy. The value of the Ruble has fallen by more than half.”

“The Moscow Stock Exchange is closed… why is that? Because it will be disbanded the moment it opens. Russia’s government has been downgraded to junk status by credit rating agencies “Biden stated.
