Leonardo DiCaprio has largely maintained a low profile since arriving in Boston to film the Adam McKay Netflix comedy “Don’t Look Up,” but DiCaprio and girlfriend Camila Morrone were briefly When they visited the North End to pick up the makings of a hearty Italian feast, they were in the public eye on New Year’s Eve.

DiCaprio, Morrone, and one other woman visited Table Mercato on Thursday afternoon, loading up on pastas, sauces, homemade potato chips, pepper jelly, and other products from the Jen Royle-owned Italian store. Royle, who runs Table Mercato and the neighbouring Italian restaurant Table, said that she thought DiCaprio one of the first customers ever to need to have a basket to carry all of his products for a home-stay meal.

“Royle told Boston.com on Saturday afternoon, “They’re staying, nobody’s going to dinner on New Year’s Eve. “However and maybe they just would want to load things up, shut the blinds, and prepare a meal.”

Royle said she was busy working in the store’s basement when DiCaprio and Morrone came through but said the actor was recognised by the employees and customers of the store.

“Royle said, “The people in the store said he had the bluest eyes they’d ever seen. “You can not inaccuracies him, even with the mask, for anything or anyone.”

DiCaprio and other cast members have filmed all over Massachusetts since beginning production on “Don’t Look Up” in late November, most notably on Dec. 1 at South Station, when he and co-star Jennifer Lawrence were filming scenes on the Acela train as stars.

“Don’t Look Up” has also been filmed at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Wheaton College in Norton, Salisbury Beach, Worcester DCU Center, Fall River Battleship Cove, and Weymouth Union Point. It is expected that filming will continue through mid-February at least.

Lawrence and DiCaprio play a pair of astronomers in the film who discover that an asteroid is on a terrestrial collision course. They find that no one will take their dire warnings of impending doom seriously when they begin to speak publicly about the impending danger.
