Professional wrestler Jon Huber, currently working in All Elite Wrestling under the ring name Brodie Lee, died at the age of 41.

On Instagram, Huber’s wife, Amanda, said he died from a “non-COVID related lung issue.”

AEW has issued a statement on Huber:

On social media, some of Huber’s fellow wrestlers offered condolences:

In March, Huber made his AEW debut as Lee, The Dark Order’s leader. He had his first major feud against Jon Moxley, leading to Double or Nothing receiving an AEW championship match.

For the TNT Championship, Huber was engaged in a feud with Cody Rhodes over the summer. In the Aug. 22 episode of Dynamite, the Exalted One defeated Rhodes to win the title.

The most recent appearance of Huber on Dynamite was in a dog collar match for the TNT title against Rhodes. The belt was won back by Rhodes, with Huber being written off TV due to injury. Last month, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Fightful’s Jeremy Lambert) reported that Huber was dealing with a “possible ankle injury.”

Huber spent seven years working as Luke Harper in WWE prior to joining AEW. He worked primarily with Erick Rowan as a tag team wrestler. The duo won titles for the NXT tag team and once won titles for the WWE SmackDown tag team.
