Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Joe Biden on his victory in the US presidential election on Tuesday after Biden won the state-by-state vote at the Electoral College that officially determines the United States presidency, the Kremlin said.
Before commenting on its outcome, the Kremlin had said it would wait for the official results of the election, even as other nations congratulated Biden on winning in the days following the November 3 vote.
“For my part, I am ready for interaction and contact with you the Kremlin quoted Putin as saying in a statement.
Putin hoped the President-elect every success and expressed confidence that, despite their differences, Russia and the United States, which have a moral duty for global security and stability, could really help to solve the world’s many problems and challenges,” the Kremlin said.”
