"The Best Gift Will Be...": Zelensky Visits Injured Ukrainian Soldiers in the Hospital

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky paid a visit to a military hospital in the Kyiv region to see soldiers injured in the Russian attack. Mr Zelensky also awarded medals of honor to troops killed in the conflict and declared them “Ukraine’s Heroes.”
According to the Independent, Hutsul Volodymyr Olesksandrovych, a senior lieutenant, was among those honored with the title and a medal.

He was honored for destroying 25 pieces of Russian military equipment and killing approximately 300 invading soldiers.

The photos of Mr. Zelensky’s visit to the hospital, in which he is seen posing for selfies, were posted by Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense.

Guys, please get well soon. According to the English translation of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s tweet, Mr. Zelensky told the injured soldiers, “I believe that the best gift for your statement will be our common victory.”
However, the exact location of the hospital has yet to be determined. Several news outlets have also posted videos of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko arriving at the hospital.

People on social media praised the Ukrainian President’s gesture. “This is leadership at its finest,” one Twitter user said.

“I wish we had a president like him,” said another Twitter user, a US Army veteran.
Ukraine has been at war for 19 days, and Mr Zelensky has rallied his people with a series of speeches from the capital, Kyiv.

“It’s impossible to say how many days we have left (ahead of us) to liberate Ukrainian territory. But we can declare that we will do it “On Saturday, he stated. “We’re already on our way to our goal, our victory.”

He went on to say that at least 1,300 Ukrainian soldiers had died in the country’s defense.
