The Mandalorian actor Gina Carano, after making social media posts denounced by the company as “abhorrent and unacceptable,” is confirmed to be no longer employed by LucasFilm.
Carano, who played Cara Dune, allegedly posted content that compared criticism of the political beliefs of a person to the persecution of Jews in Nazi Germany on her Instagram stories.
The production company confirmed in a statement provided to Variety by LucasFilm, “Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future.”
“Her social media posts, however, denigrating individuals based on their cultural and religious identities are disgusting and unacceptable.”
Variety also confirmed that she was dropped as a client by Carano’s UTA agency.
After posting anti-mask tweets, unfounded claims of voter fraud, and other posts that were criticised as transphobic, the actor had previously faced calls to be fired from the show. The accounts belonging to Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau, Disney, Disney Plus, Star Wars, and Lucasfilm, along with the hashtag #FireGinaCarano, were tagged by Twitter users.

In an interview on the Drunk 3PO YouTube channel, Carano went on to address the backlash, where she said she “brings out people’s fire.”
I’m going to stick around and if you’re bothered by my presence, okay, but a lot of people are not bothered by my presence on Twitter or my presence on social media. So I’m more focused on those people,’ she said.
