A woman gave birth to rare identical twin daughters three days apart, which is a rare occurrence.
According to Fox News, Carmen Martinez, a mother of three, gave birth to Gabriella (Gabby) Grace Hernandez on March 7 and Isabella Rose Hernandez on March 10 at the Hendrick Health care facility in Abilene, Texas, a city in Taylor County.

“Gabby was born at 24 weeks and 4 days, and Bella was born at precisely 25 weeks,” Ms Martinez was quoted by the outlet as saying.

Ms Martinez started to show signs of early labor a week before the babies were born. She was advised to postpone the birth of her second child for a few days to give them more time to develop and increase her chances of survival.

“My doctors examined everything, and they were fine. There was no distress or anything else. But they each had their own placenta and sac, and it was only for Baby A that it ruptured, not for Baby B “Ms Martinez went on to say.

According to Fox News, she continued in labour without pain medication, was closely monitored, and was given magnesium, which might also help to slow or stop labour contractions. “I held Gabby in for a week before giving birth naturally,” Ms Martinez explained.

Ms Martinez and her family were taken aback by the turn of events. “We didn’t call anyone right away because we weren’t sure what was going to happen,” she explained.
“Everyone was scared when we finally called our immediate family and sent a picture of Gabby because all they saw was a photo of one baby – and they didn’t know what to ask,” Ms Martinez added.

When her family learned that her second child’s delivery was still in progress, they were terrified, even though Ms Martinez could feel the baby’s movement while resting on a hospital bed.
“Bella was throwing her own party,” she said. “She seemed to have the entire belly to herself, and she was having a nice time.”

“This has only happened once before in my career. It’s extremely rare “Dr. James L Tadvick, an OB-GYN at Hendrick Health who assisted with the deliveries, told Fox News.
