The horrible three-train disaster that occurred last night in Balasore, Odisha, left at least 238 people dead and over 900 injured.

The event occurred when the Coromandel Shalimar Express passenger train derailed, collided with a cargo train, then collided with the derailed carriages of the Yesvantpur-Howrah Superfast train.

According to reports, the Coromandel Shalimar Express, which was travelling to Chennai, derailed and collided with a goods train, causing numerous coaches to flip over.

The derailed coaches were then struck by the Yesvantpur-Howrah Superfast. When the crashes happened, both trains were going quickly.

Between 6.50 and 7.10 p.m., according to authorities and witnesses, the terrible tragedy occurred.

Concerns over a potential operational failure have prompted the Railways to seek an investigation.

As rescue efforts proceeded through the night, locals and employees worked to extricate remains and survivors from the twisted wreckage.
