Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, expressed his desire for Britain’s new Conservative leader Liz Truss to assist Kiev in “thwarting” Moscow on Monday.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who was one of Zelensky’s biggest supporters, will be replaced by Truss as the head of the British Conservative Party.

In his daily talk, Zelensky expressed excitement for his upcoming collaboration with Truss.

Zelensky asserted that by working together, “I believe we will be able to do more to protect our peoples and to stop all Russian detrimental efforts.

We in Ukraine know her well; she has always been on the positive side of European politics, said the president of Ukraine, adding that “the main issue is to preserve our togetherness.”

Since Russia’s invasion began on February 24, Britain has been a steadfast backer of Ukraine.

London has provided military equipment, money, and training to Kyiv’s beleaguered soldiers, who are now engaged in combat in the country’s south and east.

During his third trip to Ukraine since the crisis started, Zelensky last month presented Johnson with the “Order of Liberty,” a Ukrainian honour bestowed to those who uphold their nation’s sovereignty.
