According to the federal energy ministry, a significant failure in Pakistan’s national system caused widespread power outages early on Monday.

“The National Grid apparently suffered a loss of frequency at around 7:34 AM (local time) today, which resulted in a significant failure. To revitalize the system, quick work is being done “In a statement, the ministry stated.

All major cities, including Peshawar, Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore, were without power.

According to power minister Khurrum Dastagir, there was a frequency fluctuation between the southern cities of Jamshoro and Dadu on Monday morning when systems were turned on.

The systems were turned off one by one as a result of a voltage fluctuation. This is not a serious emergency, Dastagir added.
