Since leaving the Trump administration, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo claims to have been going to the gym and avoiding bad food. According to the New York Post, the healthful change assisted him in losing 90 pounds in six months.

Throughout the year of 2021, Fox News viewers and others noticed Pompeo had lost weight. In an interview with The New York Post, the former secretary of state and Kansas congressman, who is also a possible presidential candidate in 2024, explained how he lost weight.

Losing weight, Pompeo said, has been a “lifetime struggle” for him, but it got even more difficult once he was elected to Congress in 2010. He told the Washington Post that his weight-loss adventure began in June 2021, when he stepped on the scale and found he was approaching 300 pounds.

Pompeo reportedly told his wife Susan, “Today is the day.”

Pompeo said his weight loss was achieved without the use of fad diets, costly personal training, or strenuous fitness regimes.

“I attempted to go five or six times a week and remain for a half-hour or so. That wasn’t even close to being scientific. There was no personal trainer and no dietitian on hand. I was the only one there, “Pompeo told the Washington Post about it.

Working in government, particularly in a top position like secretary of state, Pompeo noted, entailed long workdays and travel days fuelled by a lot of food, particularly cheeseburgers.

“Any member of my team could tell you what I was going to order from room service: a cheeseburger. I returned to my office and resumed my work while eating my cheeseburger. That had been my life pattern “When Pompeo was travelling abroad, he described his daily routine. “You just keep working and eating when you work and eat.”

Pompeo said his family still eats a lot of meals and goes to iHop, but he avoids the syrup-drenched pumpkin pancakes. He told the Washington Post, “Now we get egg whites and turkey bacon.”

“Food is where our family comes together. We are Italians who enjoy gathering around a wonderful meal of pasta, bread, cheeses, and dessert. We’ll still have these large meals with family and friends, but I’ll be the person who says, “Yeah, I’ll have a salad.” “he continued.
