During a sting operation, US cops sell a drug dealer 27 kg of meth; he then drives off

Red-faced In a sting operation that obviously went awry, California police sold a large packet of meth to a suspected drug dealer before watching him drive away.

In order to provide undercover sheriff’s deputies with the evidence they needed to apprehend their target, they allegedly promised to supply 27 kilogrammes (almost 60 pounds) of the illicit stimulant in Riverside County, close to Los Angeles.

However, the suspect didn’t appear to be interested in waiting around to be apprehended after delivering the money and taking his loot.

Following the transaction, the suspect sped off, prompting deputies from the Gang Task Force to try a vehicle stop, according to a press release from the Riverside County Sheriff about the operation on April 19.

“The pursuit began after the suspect refused to stop. Deputies lost sight of the car because of the suspect’s reckless driving at high speeds.

Former police captain and unsuccessful sheriff candidate Michael Lujan told the Los Angeles Times that he had heard the drugs were worth about $35,000, according to the report.

He remarked, “I don’t know why you would let someone get in their car.

The situation is somewhat awkward. We now have more illegal drugs on the streets, which is sad.
