The UK Student Climate Network (UKSCN) is protesting the museum’s announcement that a new gallery would be sponsored by a subsidiary of the Adani Group, a multinational corporation that deals in coal mining and coal-fired power plants.

The gallery’s name will be Energy Revolution: The Adani Green Energy Gallery, and it will open in 2023.

The Science Museum has also been chastised for collaborating with Shell to fund a carbon capture and storage show.

Professor of Climate Science Chris Rapley CBE resigned from the Science Museum’s Advisory Board earlier this month, citing the museum’s willingness to take money from big oil and gas companies as a reason for his departure.
