On Wednesday, Shehbaz Sharif’s government arrested key members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and the entire city of Islamabad was blocked. The news comes only days before Imran Khan’s Azadi March, which is set to take place today.

Pakistani authorities searched the homes of PTI leaders and supporters.

According to Geo News, PTI leader Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed was arrested after police conducted a late-night raid under section 16 of the MPO.

In a crackdown aimed at derailing the PTI’s preparations for a big power display in Islamabad, the authorities arrested nearly 1,000 PTI leaders and workers.

The Punjab administration demanded the deployment of Rangers to control the law and order situation in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad, and Karachi, as well as other important cities across the country.

With the huge deployment of police and containers, the federal capital has been cut off from the rest of the country.

The administration has settled on two measures, according to officers in the capital, enabling the PTI marchers to enter Islamabad or intercepting them at entry points.

Imran Khan was supposed to be arrested last Friday by Pakistani police. Banigala was also raided by a well-equipped contingent of capital police. The goal, however, was unsuccessful because Imran Khan was in Multan instead of the public demonstration.

Imran Khan’s Azadi March is underway in Pakistan.

The PTI marchers would be allowed to reach Islamabad, but they would not be allowed to cross Zero-Point, according to the first plan.

However, if the government decides to bar PTI leaders from entering, the next plan will be enacted. All access points will be sealed in such case, and the marchers will be stopped at the Attock and Jhelum bridges.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani police have received 500 containers, with 300 being deployed to secure the Red Zone.

According to the officers, the administration has also decided to cancel leaves for the Capital police, save in emergencies.

On the Azadi March, Imran Khan said

Khan said that his party’s long protest march to Islamabad will begin on May 25, calling for the National Assembly to be dissolved and a date for the next general election to be set. Khan encouraged a huge number of individuals to attend.

Imran Khan also urged the military to remain “neutral” as indicated.

“The foreign conspiracy against Pakistan was hatched eight months ago, and I was informed of it in June. By August, I had a complete understanding of what was going on. We tried everything we could to dispel this conspiracy, but we were unsuccessful “stated Khan

Before declaring the date, the PTI chairman detailed his conspiracy claims as well as the goal of his march.

Khan emphasised that the party has always been nonviolent in its protests and that the same will be true for the next march, warning that any wrongdoing against the peaceful protest march would be met with legal action.
