Allowing Russia to continue its actions in Ukraine will convey a message to aggressors everywhere, according to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

Antony Blinken said at the Quad Foreign Ministers conference in the capital, “If we allow Russia to do what it is doing in Ukraine, it sends a message to aggressors everywhere that they may be able to get away with it as well.

The Raisina Dialogue 2023 in Delhi, with the subject “The Quad Squad: Power and Purpose of the Polygon,” was being held when Blinken was speaking. All four Quad foreign ministers were in attendance.

Continuing, Blinken said, “We are appropriately focused on what is happening in Ukraine as a consequence of Russian aggression, not just because it matters to Ukrainians, Ukraine, and Europe, but because it matters to the entire world.

The Quad grouping, in Blinken’s opinion, is a force for virtue, positive change, and affirmative action.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi, and Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong were present at the conference on Friday, which was presided over by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.

The meeting, according to the Ministry of External Affairs, offers the ministers a chance to continue their discussions from their previous gathering in September 2022 in New York. It occurs the day following the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting in the nation’s capital.

On Thursday, Blinken and Jaishankar met and discussed ways to mitigate the global consequences of Russia’s war in Ukraine.

In a conversation with Jaishankar outside of the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, Blinken discussed his views on tackling both global and regional issues.

Along with regional issues, Secretary Blinken and Minister Jaishankar spoke about the successful start of the initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET), US-India collaboration in the Indo-Pacific, and mitigating the global effects of Russia’s war in Ukraine.

Earlier in the day, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken urged his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov to reverse Moscow’s “irreversible decision” and resume implementing the New START (Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty) nuclear arms reduction treaty.
