The passport-issuing procedure will begin in 14 additional provinces in Afghanistan on Monday, bringing the overall number of provinces to 32.

According to TOLOnews, officials from the passport department stated at a press conference held at the Government Media and Information Center (GMIC) that the passport-issuing process will begin in 14 more provinces of Afghanistan on Monday.

According to TOLOnews, Alem Gul Haqqani, the director of the passport service, told reporters that all 32 Afghan regions will be able to issue passports to applicants.

The country’s passport issuance services have yet to begin in Kabul and Helmand. Technical difficulties have caused the delay.

“Anyone can receive a passport based on their identity cards by going to their local province.” According to TOLOnews, Haqqani added, “We would not hand them passports in Kabul.”

Haqqani stated that the capital’s passport office will resume service to citizens once the technological issues at the Kabul passport office are fixed.

People in Kabul, on the other hand, are in desperate need of passports and eagerly await the reopening of the passport office.

Since the reopening of offices in Afghanistan, the passport agency has announced that over 125,000 passports have been granted, according to TOLOnews.
