Indian envoy shares video of US Navy members singing famous Hindi song

At a dinner meeting between US Chief of Naval Operations Michael M Gilday and India’s Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu, members of the US Navy performed a famous Hindi song.

Sandhu posted a video of police officers singing Yeh Jo Desh Hai Tera from the film Swades to Twitter on Saturday. “This is an unbreakable friendship bond,” he wrote. AR Rehman wrote and sang the song for the film Swades, which was released in 2004.

The video depicts a group of US Navy band singers and musicians performing the song while dressed in their uniforms.

On the microblogging platform, the 1.5-minute video has over 196k views. About 14.9 thousand people have liked it.

Sandhu thanked Admiral Gilday, the US CNO, for hosting a “wonderful evening” in a separate tweet. Sandhu expressed his desire to collaborate in order to strengthen the India-US relationship.

Admiral Michael M Gilday, the Chief of Naval Operations, wrote in his message: “In the Indo-Pacific and beyond, we will work together to foster a free, transparent, and inclusive rules-based order. I anticipate continued cooperation between our two navies.”
