Ukrainian families who fear their children will be killed by advancing Russian forces have begun writing family details on their children’s bodies. Images of this shocking development are quickly spreading on social media. Many journalists are tweeting photos of these children to highlight the grim reality of the conflict. “Ukrainian mothers are writing family contact information on their children’s bodies in the event that they are killed and their child survives. And Europe is still talking about gas “Anastasiia Lapatina, an independent journalist, posted one such image on Twitter.

It depicts a small Ukrainian girl with her mother’s name and phone number written on her back.

Sasha Makoviy, the girl’s mother, shared the photo on Instagram three days ago. The post is in the local language, but according to a Google translation, the woman decided to write her daughter Vera’s name “in case something happens, someone would welcome her as a survivor.”

Makoviy stated in another photo that her family is safe, but she is still unable to throw away a piece of paper with the same information written on it.

A Twitter user responded to the toddler’s photo by saying: “It is heartbreaking. There aren’t any words.”

Horrifying accounts have emerged from Ukraine’s ongoing conflict, which has lasted more than a month. The Guardian reported last week that Russian forces were using children as “human shields” as they attempted to flee.

According to the report, buses carrying children are being parked in front of tanks in the village of Novyi Bykiv, not far from Chernihiv.

Then came reports of a burial site and tied bodies shot at close range in Bucha, Ukraine’s second-largest city.

It sparked outrage around the world, with US Vice President Joe Biden accusing Russian President Vladimir Putin of war crimes. “You saw what occurred in Bucha,” Biden told reporters on Monday in Washington. “This justifies him – he’s a war criminal.”
