Islamabad: On Thursday, the Balochistan Liberation Army, a terrorist group, claimed to have slain more than 100 troops at two military installations in Pakistan.
In recent weeks, Baloch rebels have increased attacks on Pakistani authorities, including a deadly bomb bombing in the eastern megacity of Lahore last month.
According to a news statement dated February 3, 2022, the terrorist organization still controls substantial areas of Pakistan’s Panjgur and Nushki military bases.
“Large parts of camps have been completely destroyed. Backup troops have arrived for the enemy forces. However, they have failed to weaken fidayee positions inside the camp,” According to the press release.
The Baloch Liberation Army further claimed that Pakistan’s media had been barred from covering the events and that telecommunications networks had been cut off.
The terrorist organization asserted that the allegation made by the Inter-Services Public Relations of the Pakistan Armed Forces that the attacks were repulsed was incorrect.
“Today’s operations are still underway with full intensity,” the organization added.
WHAT DID THE PAKISTANI ARMY SAY?
Earlier in the day, the Pakistan military’s media wing said that armed gunmen attacked two security forces camps in Balochistan province, resulting in an intensive exchange of fire that killed at least four terrorists and a soldier.
The Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement, “Both attacks were successfully repulsed, inflicting heavy casualties on terrorists”.
The BLA’s declaration is diametrically opposed to the military’s interpretation.
BLA INCREASES ATTACKS
Baloch Liberation Army, a separatist group, has recently increased attacks on security troops and sites.
The assaults on Wednesday were the latest in a series of similar strikes in Balochistan, and they came only a week after 10 troops were killed in a terrorist attack at a checkpoint in Kech district.
