Brendan Santo, 18, went missing nearly three months ago while visiting friends in East Lansing, Michigan, on the weekend of the Michigan-Michigan State football game.

There have been no leads as to what happened to the Grand Valley University student who went missing over the Halloween weekend, but the hunt for him is ongoing, and his family is not given up hope.

“It’s inconceivable that someone can just vanish in this day and age,” Brendan’s aunt, Dawn Brewer, said. “Our family is pleading for anyone with knowledge to come forward, even if it is anonymously.”

Authorities claimed Santo was last seen approximately midnight on Oct. 29 on MSU’s campus, near Yakeley Hall. According to authorities, he was dressed in grey sweatpants, a black T-shirt, a Detroit Red Wings hat, and Converse high tops. He stands around 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds.

Santo’s pals thought he was on his way to the Brody area, where he was living with other buddies, but he never showed up. His phone was at 0% when he went missing, and the last SMS he sent was about 11:45 p.m.

MSUPD stated that the CCTV cameras in Yakeley Hall were not operating the night Brendan went missing, and there were no additional cameras in the neighborhood.

“Locating out what occurred after Brendan left Yakeley Hall is the step to finding Brendan, or at the very least adding another piece to this horrific jigsaw,” said Brewer.

The next morning, Santo’s buddies reported him missing. According to MSUPD, Brendan’s vehicle remained at the last spot it was parked, and there is no sign he departed the East Lansing area.

Soon after Santo went missing, the FBI joined state and local authorities in the search, which included operations by foot, drone, helicopter, and boat. Authorities used various K9 teams, including cadaver dogs, early in the inquiry.

According to MSUPD, several cadaver dog signals on the Red Cedar River near Santo’s last known location, combined with his digital trace, prompted detectives to focus on the Red Cedar River, however other options are being explored.
