At the Golden Globes, Jodie Foster thanked Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, keeping a promise she made before winning.

Foster clarified late Sunday that she did not introduce Rodgers to actress Shailene Woodley, who recently announced her engagement to the NFL MVP.

“I’ve never met Aaron Rodgers, but it’s possible that I like to brag about how much I love the Green Bay Packers,” Foster said backstage in a virtual interview. “I can get carried away with it sometimes, so Shailene was well aware of my enthusiasm for the team.”

Foster took home the award for best-supporting actress in a motion picture for her role in “The Mauritanian,” in which she co-stars alongside Woodley.

Foster told reporters, “I just got a very cute video from Aaron Rodgers saying he’s going to get me back,” so he’s looking forward to it. We’ll have to wait and see who comes out on top.”

Rodgers thanked Foster after being named MVP at the NFL Honors show in early February, and the public back-and-forth began. During his acceptance speech, Rodgers casually announced that he was engaged.

Foster later said on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” that if she won a Globe, she would thank Rodgers, and she kept her word.
