CRT, gender fluidity, and the “mainstream narrative surrounding Covid” are all prohibited in Florida Schools.

A Florida school has a policy prohibiting critical race theory instruction, claiming that such instruction is the outcome of a “controlled” media agenda.

“According to a section of the Centner Academy’s website, “as a school, we do not adhere to or support Critical Race Theory, Gender Fluidity, or the mainstream narrative around Covid, all trendy problems that many schools are now choosing to teach as realities rather than theories.”

The move comes as a heated controversy has erupted in recent months over the inclusion of critical race theory elements in school curricula, with proponents claiming that such courses are necessary to educate children about the country’s past injustices.

Critical race theory, on the other hand, is described by the Centner Academy as “managed to message from the media,” which occurs during a time of “unprecedented censorship in the United States.”

The media’s repeated messaging impacts cultural norms and how we interpret social and cultural concerns,” according to the website. “Rather of accepting the media’s narrative, we encourage our students to question, investigate, evaluate, and consider problems from a variety of angles before reaching their own opinions.”

The school’s rejection of critical race theory comes as 32 states have introduced legislation to prohibit the subject from being taught in public institutions. So far, thirteen states have successfully outlawed critical race theory from public school curricula.

Centner Academy, which costs more than $30,000 a year, also promises to take a non-conventional approach to vaccinations, claiming that they “respect freedom of choice and honor freedom of religion.”

One section of the website states, “At CA, we believe in health freedom.” “Vaccines do not come in a one-size-fits-all package. This is why we follow Florida law and allow our parents to opt-out of the school immunization program by filling out a medical or religious exemption form.”

Centner Academy has been chastised in the past for its controversial policies, most notably for sending a letter to parents last year requesting that they keep their children out of school for at least 30 days or wait until the summer to get COVID-19 vaccines because “there will be time for the potential transmission or shedding onto others to decrease.”
