The Pakistani army claims that unidentified terrorists stormed a military checkpoint near the Afghan border in Pakistan’s restive North Waziristan province, killing two troops in return for gunfire. The incident occurred in Datta Khel tehsil of the tribal North Waziristan district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to the army’s media wing on Saturday.

The assailants fled after exchanging gunfire with security personnel. The soldiers were killed during a gunfight, according to the statement. The attackers are still unknown.

This is the third time security troops have been targeted since the truce began on November 9. The militants killed two policeman in Bajaur tribal district and one soldier in Tank region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the previous two strikes.

The Pakistani Taliban, often known as the TTP, is a terrorist group based on the Afghan-Pakistani border. For more than a decade, it appears that it has been using Afghan land to plan terrorist attacks in Pakistan, killing thousands of people.
