According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the special operation is solely targeting Ukrainian military facilities, and civilians are not in risk.

The West, on the other hand, disputes the Russians’ assertions and has imposed broad penalties on Moscow as a result. They also imposed sanctions on Belarus as a result of its support for Russia’s operations in Ukraine.
