Malik Faisal Akram, a 44-year-old British national who took four people hostage inside a Texas synagogue in what US President Joe Biden called a “act of terror,” was slain on Sunday following a tense confrontation. The FBI recognised Akram, who was calling for the release of Pakistani scientist Aafia Siddiqui, who was convicted of attempting to kill US military officials while detained in Afghanistan.

According to the FBI announcement, “Special Agent in Charge Matthew DeSamo of the FBI Dallas Field Office confirmed today the identify of the Colleyville, Texas hostage-taker as British Citizen Malik Faisal Akram, 44.”

On Saturday, a guy held at least four people hostage for more than ten hours at a synagogue in Colleyville.

The FBI’s Evidence Response Team (ERT), according to the press release, will continue to process evidence at the synagogue.

The events will be investigated by an FBI Shooting Incident Review Team (SIRT).

In addition, two adolescents were arrested by police in England as part of their investigation. The suspects were not named, nor were they charged, according to the Greater Manchester Police. They were identified as youngsters who had been detained and were being questioned.

What Biden said about the Texas synagogue hostage crisis

Biden praised the FBI and local officials and reaffirmed that the US is capable of dealing with such attacks.

“And they did a fantastic job. I also informed him that I wanted to make sure that the word went out that this would not be tolerated in synagogues or other houses of worship. We have the capability to respond to the attack on, in particular “Biden stated.

“The Attorney General is committed to dealing with these types of crimes. And thank God for the FBI’s professionalism and local collaboration “Biden said
