Ukraine promised not to surrender ground in negotiations with Russia on Sunday, four days after Ukrainian military withstood a Russian invasion and Moscow raised its nuclear alert.

Fighting has cost the lives of dozens of civilians, driven hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians to escape west, and might potentially displace up to seven million people, according to the EU.

As its armies struggle on the streets of Ukraine’s towns, Russia has become an international pariah, facing a bombardment of penalties, including a ban from Western airspace and critical banking networks.

Ukraine announced that it would send a delegation to speak with Russian representatives on the Belarusian border, which has permitted Russian soldiers to invade Ukraine.

Kyiv, on the other hand, argued that the negotiations had no preconditions.

“We will not concede, we will not give up a single inch of our territory,” Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated ahead of the first public meeting between the two sides since the outbreak of the war.

Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine’s president, was sceptical.

“As always, I have my doubts about the outcome of this meeting,” he remarked, “but I’ll let them try.”

Americans in Russia are being asked to ‘consider’ leaving now, according to the United States.

As commercial airlines cancelled flights and nations shut down airspace in an effort to tighten the screws on Moscow for invading Ukraine, the US encouraged its people in Russia to “consider” departing immediately on Sunday.

In a statement, the US embassy in Moscow claimed, “an increasing number of airlines are cancelling flights into and out of Russia, and other nations have blocked their airspace to Russian aircraft.”

“Consider leaving Russia immediately via commercial possibilities still accessible,” it advised its people.

The US embassy, on the other hand, stated that it will not be revising its travel warning for Russia.
